Tempeh is a nutrient-dense superfood produced by fermenting soybeans, black beans, chickpeas, or mixed legumes with the proprietary fungal strain Rhizopus microsporus. During fermentation, large protein molecules are broken down into smaller peptides and amino acids, significantly enhancing digestibility and nutrient absorption. The fermentation process also generates 3-Hydroxyanthranilic Acid (3-HAA), a unique antioxidant compound that is not naturally present in raw soybeans.
Rich in high-quality plant-based protein, dietary fiber, and vitamin B12, tempeh is naturally low in fat and cholesterol-free, making it an excellent protein source for vegetarians and health-conscious consumers.
