The Region: A Highland Floral City
Pyin Oo Lwin, a renowned mountain town in the Mandalay region, is celebrated as the "City of Flowers." With its cool subtropical highland climate and a rich history dating back to the British colonial era, the region offers the perfect terroir for coffee. The fertile volcanic soil, combined with optimal sunlight and rainfall, provides ideal growing conditions for premium coffee trees.

Excellence in Processing
As one of the birthplaces of Myanmar’s coffee industry, Pyin Oo Lwin is home to the Myanmar Coffee Association's representative processing facility, MCG. Being HACCP-certified, MCG ensures that the region's coffee meets the highest standards for export. A unique characteristic of this area is the practice of single-varietal cultivation by individual estate owners, ensuring distinct and consistent quality.

Our Commitment
This year, Thanaka Coffee is honored to introduce two unique lots from Pyin Oo Lwin. We insist on harvesting only fully ripe cherries, followed by meticulous manual sorting and defect removal. Through these offerings, we hope to demonstrate the extraordinary quality and diversity of Myanmar’s specialty coffee to the industry in Taiwan, inviting more consumers to fall in love with the aromatic brilliance of this mountain city.
