The “ORI-EN” series is the result of a collaboration between two renowned centers of Japanese metal craftsmanship: Tsubame City in Niigata Prefecture, celebrated for its exceptional metalworking, and Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, famous for its traditional copperware and lacquer coloring techniques. This partnership brings together modern functionality and traditional craftsmanship, creating pieces that are both refined and timeless.<br/><br/>Ordinarily, stainless steel is not an easy material to apply traditional coloring techniques to. However, through repeated experimentation, this cup successfully incorporates copper and brass coloring methods onto stainless steel surfaces, achieving a distinctive “metal-stylized” finish that is both elegant and expressive.<br/><br/>Its double-layer structure combines functionality with comfort. The air layer between the inner and outer walls effectively insulates heat or cold, preventing temperature from transferring to the hand and making it pleasant to hold. For tea drinkers, this thoughtful design enhances the experience of enjoying warm tea and allows the cup to naturally integrate into a tea setting, complementing teapots and other tea utensils.<br/><br/>What makes each piece truly special is its unique color and texture.
