🌿 Maquiberry grows naturally in wild forest regions of Chile. The fruits are small, scattered, and labor-intensive to harvest. Due to their short shelf life and limited transport stability, they are typically processed into dried or extracted forms. As a result, they are often regarded as a rare “purple jewel of the Chilean forest.”
The fruit is known for its deep purple to near-black color, a characteristic commonly associated with plants rich in natural phytochemicals. This has led to continued scientific interest in its plant-derived components.
