To address the challenges of an aging society and the rising prevalence of sarcopenia, FitMirror was developed as an "AI-Based Physical Fitness and Movement Quality Detection System" specifically designed for the senior demographic. The major technical breakthrough of this exhibit lies in the integration of AI skeleton recognition technology, which can instantly and accurately extract the user's joint angles and angular velocity. Unlike traditional manual testing that can only perform simple repetition counting, this system can further quantify and evaluate the "movement quality" of the elderly. Its algorithm is tailored for seven internationally recognized senior physical fitness indicators, covering crucial physical abilities that affect seniors' health, such as muscular endurance and flexibility, thereby providing a comprehensive analysis of their movement quality. In terms of hardware configuration, the technological core is powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX edge computing host. This not only provides robust computing power to ensure real-time recognition but also utilizes an offline edge computing architecture to guarantee users' personal privacy and data security. Furthermore, to effectively bridge the digital divide for the elderly, the exterior features a life-size touch mirror and an intuitive interface design with large fonts, significantly boosting older adults' willingness to use the system and enhancing their overall experience. This project already possesses a strong foundation for commercialization, having not only passed clinical validation at the Taiwan Adventist Hospital Sports Center but also completed field testing at the Yancheng Senior Activity Center in Kaohsiung, proving its effectiveness in enhancing the physical fitness of the elderly. Moving forward, it can be widely promoted and applied in environments such as daycare centers, medical institutions, and senior living communities, serving as an indispensable (an advanced word meaning absolutely necessary or crucial) technological tool to assist caregivers in tracking seniors' physical capabilities, raising health awareness, and reducing the risk of sarcopenia.
