Montefalco Rosso is a legally permitted blend from the Montefalco region and the only easy-drinking red wine in Italy to include Sagrantino. This wine is predominantly Sangiovese (60%), blended with Merlot (25%) and Sagrantino (15%). Sangiovese provides acidity and structure, Merlot adds smoothness and fruitiness, and Sagrantino contributes structure and tannins, resulting in a stable overall wine with aging potential.<br/>The grapes are harvested from mid-September to mid-October. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in French oak barrels for at least six months.<br/>The finished wine is a deep ruby red with violet and pale pomegranate rims. Aromas include red fruits (such as cherry and berries) and spices, with hints of undergrowth and earth.
