Characteristic

Morellone is an elegant red wine made from a blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese grapes. The two grape varieties are fermented separately in cement tanks to preserve their individual flavors. After fermentation, the wine is aged for two years in old oak barrels that have been used one, two, or three times to blend the flavors. The two wines are then blended in cement tanks and left to stand for a year; afterwards, they are transferred to stainless steel tanks and stored for several months before bottling. After bottling, it is aged for another six months before being released for sale. Morellone exhibits rich aromas of ripe red fruit, with prominent notes of violet, licorice, and tobacco, accompanied by subtle hints of woodland, sweet spices, and chocolate. The palate is warm, rich, delicate, and incredibly persistent, with perfectly balanced tannins. The sandy soil containing limestone, located at an altitude of 280 to 400 meters, provides ideal conditions for healthy grape growth and flavor development.
