Chang Jung Christian University’s University Social Responsibility (USR) project, “Together at Shijiaojiao, Advancing Toward a Sustainable Liugui,” is based in Liugui District, Kaohsiung City. By integrating the university’s professional expertise, local community engagement, and regional industrial development, the project is committed to promoting place-based revitalization, sustainable industries, and youth returning to their hometowns. Its ultimate goal is to build a resilient and sustainable community founded on collaboration and shared prosperity.
The development of Liugui Mountain Tea is at the heart of the project. By connecting local tea farmers, young agricultural entrepreneurs, community organizations, and local government, the project promotes industrial guidance, brand marketing, product development, food and agricultural education, and talent cultivation. These efforts aim to strengthen the distinctive characteristics and market value of Liugui Mountain Tea, create more entrepreneurial opportunities for local youth, and foster the long-term growth of local industries. Through its interdisciplinary expertise and USR initiatives, Chang Jung Christian University also brings together local resources and nurtures local talent, gradually establishing a sustainable development model that benefits local industries, communities, and the environment.
