Characteristic

 

SABINSA's Boswellin® is standardized extracts from the gum resin exudates of Boswellia serrata tree containing different types of ß-Boswellic Acids. The four major pentacyclic triterpenoids identified in Boswellin® are β-Boswellic Acid, Acetyl-β-Boswellic Acid, 11-Keto-β-Boswellic Acid and Acetyl-11-Keto-β-Boswellic Acid (AKBBA). Boswellic acids have been found to inhibit 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), as well as, human leukocyte elastase (HLE), and this dual inhibition is unique to Boswellic acid and is the reason for its powerful anti-inflammatory effects. Among all the Boswellic acids, AKBBA provides the most potent inhibitory action. Boswellin® clinically been proven to be safe and effective in the management of arthritic conditions and knee pain. There are many grades of Boswellin® with different contents of Boswellic acid, suitable for various forms and applications of products.
