RMG sector getting environment-friendly
RMG factories in Bangladesh are getting environment-friendly day by day. Entrepreneurs are trying to decorate their factories in green in the response of their buyers. They are also getting feedback globally.
BGMEA said, 28 RMG factories have already got green recognition from the Green Building Council Lead from the United States. More 118 factories are on the pipeline for the achievement. The Entrepreneurs are bringing more foreign currencies as the buyers are satisfied with the environment of the factories.
BGMEA says, by 2016 more than 150 factories will get Lead certificates if they get enough facilities including loans. Larger factories are showing interest to turn their factories into green.
Experts said, green factories save power by 24 percent, water 50 percent. Moreover the environment improves. Production rate is increased, if health facilities and security of the workers are ensured.
Bangladesh bank are giving loans to the RMG sector to encourage green industry.
