Nearly 20,000 Industry Professionals Gather at VietnamPlas 2026, Connecting the Global Plastics & Rubber Industry

 

After a dynamic four-day run from 9–12 September 2026, the 24th Vietnam International Plastics & Rubber Industry Exhibition (VietnamPlas 2026) successfully concluded at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The exhibition attracted 19,318 visitors and brought together 650 exhibitors across 22,000 square meters and 1,100 booths, with participation from 19 countries and regions.

 

According to the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), rising crude oil-related import costs and other international market factors have placed additional pressure on manufacturers. The association noted that raw material import costs have increased significantly, while manufacturers have faced challenges in passing the full increase on to downstream product prices. VPA also reported that the industry's growth rate in the most recent month was approximately 8% lower than the same period last year, with market conditions expected to remain challenging over the next two to three years.

 

Despite these challenges, VPA noted that VietnamPlas 2026 continued to provide opportunities for exhibitors to meet customers, discuss potential orders, and explore new business opportunities in the Vietnamese market. The exhibition brought together suppliers, manufacturers and industry professionals to exchange market insights, explore new technologies and identify potential opportunities for future cooperation.

Exhibitor Highlights: Exploring New Opportunities in Vietnam

Throughout the exhibition, international exhibitors presented their latest products and technologies, ranging from raw materials and processing machinery to production solutions. VietnamPlas also provided companies with opportunities to connect with customers, better understand local market needs, and explore the growing potential of the Vietnamese market.

 

NHAT MINH EQUIPMENT & CHEMICALS CO., LTD

Marking its fourth participation in VietnamPlas, Nhat Minh Equipment & Chemicals expanded its booth this year and showcased five machines, including larger equipment. Together with LABTECH and Q-Lab, the company aims to provide customers with more complete and integrated solutions.

 

WILMAR MARKETING CLV CO., LTD

With nearly 30 years of experience in Vietnam, Wilmar participated in VietnamPlas with its own booth for the first time, showcasing its products and connecting with visitors from different industries. Through the exhibition, Wilmar looks forward to reaching more potential customers and expanding the applications of its products across different industries.

 

SOLSTICE ADVANCED MATERIALS INC.

Making its VietnamPlas debut, Solstice showcased its PE wax products for applications including PVC profiles, PVC pipes, color masterbatch, and rubber. Its materials help improve production efficiency and color masterbatch dispersion. With Vietnam’s market continuing to grow, Solstice sees further opportunities for advanced materials in the country.

Nam Giang showcased ExxonMobil solutions focused on helping businesses save energy and improve production efficiency. As Vietnam’s plastics market continues to develop, the company sees further opportunities for growth and investment, while using VietnamPlas to connect with customers and build relationships for future cooperation.

 

COPERION GMBH

Coperion presented its latest developments with a focus on improving process stability and reliability. As customers expand into international markets, demand for consistent production and high-quality results continues to grow. Through reliable equipment and process solutions, Coperion supports customers in meeting international market requirements and strengthening their production capabilities.

 

OMIPA, S.P.A.

OMIPA showcased extrusion machinery for sheet, foil, and profile production, serving industries including construction, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and electrical applications. In addition to presenting its equipment and technologies, OMIPA used VietnamPlas as an opportunity to better understand customer needs and explore further opportunities in the Vietnamese market.

ARBURG presented the new ALLROUNDER TREND, recently launched in the Asia-Pacific market for standard injection molding applications. With a focus on reliable production and cost efficiency, the machine is designed to help customers meet their production needs while maintaining competitive production costs.

JWELL showcased its WPC Wood Plastic Door Frame Extrusion Line, attracting strong interest from customers in Vietnam. Supported by its local team, JWELL provides services ranging from machine purchasing to after-sales support. At VietnamPlas 2026, the company saw strong interest in WPC products and further potential for these applications in the Vietnamese market.

 

Seminar Program: Exploring Key Trends in the Plastics & Rubber Industry

Throughout the four-day event, a series of seminars brought together industry experts and professionals to share insights on key topics in the plastics and rubber industry. Covering polymer market trends, recycled plastics and rubber, AI applications, and sustainable packaging, the sessions provided practical information on new technologies, market changes, and future development in the industry.

 

Organized by the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), the seminar “Polymers in the Crossfire: Adapting to the Shifting Market of 2026” focused on the opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam’s plastics industry. Experts discussed the latest PVC, PE, and PP market trends and Vietnam’s role in Southeast Asia’s polymer trade.

Organized by the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association, the seminar “Adding Value through Recycled Plastics and Rubber: Technology, Sustainable Materials, and Green Investment” explored opportunities to add value through recycled materials. The session covered recycling, green energy, and the circular economy, with speakers sharing practical ideas for sustainable development.

As AI continues to develop rapidly, the seminar “AI Applications in the Plastics Industry: From Prompt Engineering to Knowledge System Architecture & App Development,” organized by Meslab, explored how AI can be applied across the plastics industry. From prompt engineering and AI knowledge systems to product development tools, the session introduced ways AI can support research, product development, and manufacturing.

Sustainable packaging was another key topic at VietnamPlas 2026. Organized by the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), the seminar “Trends and Benefits of Switching from PS to PP in Single-Use Packaging: International Perspectives and Practices in Vietnam” focused on the shift from PS to PP in single-use packaging. Drawing on international experience and practices in Vietnam, the session covered eco-design, national standards, regulations, and practical applications.

By bringing together experts from different fields, the seminar program gave visitors opportunities to learn about current industry issues, share knowledge, and better understand new developments in the plastics and rubber industry.
