At The Wagging Blue, we do not simply borrow traditional Korean motifs. Instead, we reinterpret the stories, symbolism, and philosophy behind them, giving them new meaning for the lives we share with our dogs today.

Every pattern begins with authentic Korean cultural heritage.

The final design, however, is not a reproduction of history, but a contemporary creation inspired by it.

2025 Collection

Changdeokgung: Walking Through History

Our first collection was inspired by Changdeokgung Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From its architecture and dancheong paintings to royal decorative motifs, every detail of the palace reflects centuries of Korean history and symbolism.

Rather than replicating these traditional elements, we transformed them into modern graphic designs, introducing four original patterns.

Pink Lotus

Inspired by the six-petal lotus motif found in traditional palace dancheong.

Historically, the lotus symbolized harmony, protection, and the element of water. Painted beneath palace eaves, it was believed to help protect buildings from fire.

The Wagging Blue preserves this meaning while expressing it through a warm pink palette, representing peaceful days shared with our beloved dogs.

Scarlet Lotus

Another interpretation of the same six-petal lotus.

Traditional Korean scarlet and blue are reconstructed into a contemporary geometric pattern, demonstrating how heritage colors can create an entirely new visual language.

Peony

Known as the "King of Flowers," the peony has long symbolized prosperity and abundance.

We reinterpreted this royal motif using our signature blue, combining both frontal and side perspectives of the flower to create a rhythmic geometric composition unique to The Wagging Blue.

Ilwolobongdo

Inspired by the royal folding screen depicting the sun, moon, and five mountain peaks.

While the original painting symbolized royal authority and harmony with nature, our interpretation shifts its meaning toward balance, companionship, and the shared journey between people and their dogs.

From Reinterpreting Tradition to Expressing Love

The Changdeokgung Collection marked the beginning of our journey in reimagining Korean heritage.

As our work evolved, however, a new question emerged.

Could Korean tradition carry an even more personal meaning for the dogs we love today?

Beyond redesigning historical motifs, we wanted to express something every dog owner quietly wishes for.

Every time we fasten a collar or hold a leash, we carry the same simple hope.

"May you stay healthy."

"May you stay happy."

"May we walk together for many years to come."

Traditional Korean symbols were originally created to express hopes and blessings.

We realized they could continue serving that purpose today, carrying not only the wishes of our ancestors, but also the love modern families hold for their dogs.

That idea became the foundation of the 2026 EVERLIFE Collection.

EVERLIFE: Designed for a Lifetime Together

EVERLIFE is more than a collection inspired by Korean tradition.

It is a collection inspired by a universal wish.

The wish that every dog stays healthy, happy, and by our side for as long as possible.

Drawing from Korea's auspicious symbols representing longevity, prosperity, happiness, and good fortune, we transformed centuries-old meanings into contemporary designs that accompany everyday walks.

Blue Birds

Inspired by traditional Korean blue-and-white porcelain.

Clouds, cranes, peonies, trailing vines, and swallows each represent blessings such as longevity, prosperity, abundance, and happiness.

One side reflects the timeless elegance of porcelain, while the reverse introduces a modern check pattern, allowing tradition and contemporary design to coexist.

Blooming Deer

Blooming Deer combines the deer from the Ten Symbols of Longevity with royal peony motifs.

The deer symbolizes longevity, while the peony represents prosperity.

Soft pinks, greens, and blues create a warm, gentle atmosphere, while a modern argyle reverse connects historical symbolism with contemporary aesthetics.

For The Wagging Blue, Korean tradition does not belong only in museums.

We are not recreating history.

We are allowing its meaning to live again through contemporary design.
