Lutein and Zeaxanthin are types of carotenoids naturally found in fruits and vegetables. They are the only two dietary carotenoids that accumulate in the retina to support vision health. Importantly, the human body cannot produce these two nutrients; they must be sourced from foods or supplements. However, since lutein and zeaxanthin are fat-soluble nutrients, their dosage form and bioavailability are limited.

LUZvision™ is a complex powder ingredient containing two essential carotenoids for eye health: lutein and zeaxanthin. The free lutein powder is extracted from marigolds and combined with zeaxanthin in a 5:1 golden ratio, which is the optimal proportion supported by research.

Lutein and zeaxanthin exhibit higher bioavailability when combined with fats or lipids. The absorption of these carotenoids requires consideration of both micellar and chylomicron formation. Therefore, LUZvision™ incorporates MCT to aid in micellar formation and encapsulates them with phospholipids to aid in chylomicron formation. The incorporation of MCT and liposomes enhances the bioavailability of lutein and zeaxanthin, even without the intake of fats.
