VietnamWood 2022 Stunning Return: Draws Media Attention & Generates High Media Coverage!

After the one-year pause by the COVID-19 pandemic, VietnamWood, South-East Asia’s leading trade fair for the primary and secondary woodworking and wood processing industry; joined with the Vietnam International Furniture Accessories, Hardware & Tool (Furnitec 2022), will take place from October 18th – 21th at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC). The event is organized by Ministry of Industry & Trade – Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (VINEXAD) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA), and will go hybrid with a virtual online component this year.

VietnamWood and Furnitec as the key technology and trade platform for the woodworking industry in South-East Asia, is solely endorsed by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) in Vietnam, and also gaining solid support from relevant government agencies as well as domestic and international industry associations, including Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA), Forest Products Association of Binh Dinh (FPA Binhdinh), Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (VIETFOREST), and Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI)

Over the past decades, VietnamWood has been successfully attracting numerous visitors with absolute business opportunities both in the region and overseas countries. After a year of hiatus, this year VietnamWood 2022 returns with a more impressive scale and gets ready to again boost the woodworking industry from the country to worldwide.

 

Pioneer to bring technology solutions and trends to Vietnam's wood processing and production chain

According to HAWA, in the first eight months of 2022, Vietnam's export turnover of wood and wood products reached US$11,156 billion, up 7% over the same period in 2021. Although export turnover increased strongly in August 2022, the effects of inflation and uncertainties in the global economy still continue to negatively affect the Vietnam’s export growth of the wood and wood products, as well as other products in the last few months of 2022.

About raw materials, currently the domestic supply can only meet about 75% of the total processing demand, including exploitation of planted forests, scattered trees and rubber wood. Each year, Vietnam has to import about 8.5 million m³ of wood.As for technology, some groups of enterprises have used modern technology with mainly imported machinery, however, the equipments in use are averagely produced in 2010, which are quite old compared to the latest ones.

All the status quo above promotes the demand of technology solutions for production and processing. This year, VietnamWood returns to bring the latest trends, solutions and developments to the woodworking and wood processing chain.

Despite China's Zero-COVID policy causing numerous Chinese exhibitors unable to exhibit at the event, VietnamWood still attracted over 220 exhibitors and iconic brands from 25 countries and regions, such as Homag, Michael Weinig, SHODA, DIEFFENBACHER, LEITZ, JOWAT, SCM, Biesse, NANXING, LEADERMAC, IMOS, Cabinet Vision, Felder, JAF, HAFELE, BLUM, Vetta Co., Ltd, Thuan Hien, Fuvico, Quoc Duy and KEYCES.
