VietnamWood's Digital Path to Woodworking Excellence

The exceptional performance of the recently concluded Vietnamwood 2023 could be attributed to the ongoing recovery of the Vietnamese woodworking demand market in the latter half of the year, as well as the confluence of overseas export orders and domestic market demand projections for 2024. As the foremost platform within the Vietnamese woodworking industry, Vietnamwood not only introduced a diverse array of cutting-edge digital machinery, transformation solutions, and innovative raw materials but also orchestrated a series of engaging on-site activities designed to facilitate interactions and knowledge exchange among industry stakeholders. These initiatives have significantly contributed to cultivating business opportunities within the sector.

Key figures from VietnamWood 2023:

• Visitors: 11,876 from 26 countries and regions

• Exhibitors: 320 from 28 countries and regions

• Scale: 13,500 sqm

Ms. Judy Wang, the President of VietnamWood organizer, Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., said, " According to our visitor survey, about 32% of attendees were specifically seeking digital transformation solutions. This reflects a strong demand for digitization in the Vietnamese woodworking market, driven by global market changes and supply chain shifts. It's also a key reason for the positive feedback received after VietnamWood adjusted its exhibition theme this year.”

The trade fair served as a prime platform for the convergence of both domestic and international automotive markets. Buyers from 26 countries and regions, such as China, India, Japan, Korea, France, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the United States, Taiwan and Vietnam, among others, were in attendance.

During an interview, the world-leading producer of machinery and systems, SCM Group, Sales Area Manager SEA, Mr. Vittorio Polonia, said: “VietnamWood plays a pivotal role as a highly reputable exhibition for both exhibiting companies and customers to explore the latest technological advancements and market developments. This is evident from SCM's inaugural participation in our booth, signifying the company's dedicated engagement in the market and our commitment to fostering strong relationships with customers in Vietnam and the broader South Asian region.”

Visiting the show from Japan, Mr. Hiro Shoda, CEO of The SHODA Company, expanded on his reasons for attending. He noted: “The Vietnamese market sustains its economic growth and remains highly attractive on a global scale. Therefore, the Vietnamese market holds great significance for Shoda, as we aspire to become the world's leading CNC router provider. Our objective is to introduce cutting-edge Japanese technology in CNC routers to the Vietnamese market.”

The Chairman of the Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association, Joe Chang, also the general manager of Kuang Yung Machinery Co. LTD, addressed: "The Vietnamese market holds a significant position for the furniture company, so we are eager to enter this market. Our strategic approach emphasizes the utilization of intelligent machinery that not only reduces labor requirements but also offers enhanced benefits to customers. By facilitating improved management through savings in labor and materials, we aim to support factories in enhancing their operational efficiency."

In addition, a woodworking industry veteran Lê Khiêm Tân Thành Đạt expressed that many friends recommend VietnamWood this year, as his company focuses on new raw material sources from Canada and South America for high-end customers, which the show insists him on constant enhancement and give new ideas and ingredients on processing technology improving.

The next edition of VietnamWood will take place from 15 to 18 October 2025. As a leading driver of the Vietnamese woodworking industry, the organizers have expressed their commitment to further expanding topics related to digitization and transformation. They are set to unveil exhibition plans in the coming year and encourage supporters to stay engaged on VietnamWood 2025.
