Characteristic

The nose of the Herrenberg Großes Gewächs does not attempt to overwhelm the sense of smell with intensity of fragrance, but fascinates with a subtle composition of aromas. Notes of lavender, thyme, meadow flowers and lemon blossom bring together local and Mediterranean scents. On the palate there’s quite a compact expression, combining vibrancy and substance. The taste does not rely on fruit alone, although apricot shows firm flesh, kernel and skin, but a refreshing lemony acidity and a deft touch of nutmeg add zest and spicy piquancy. Despite all its youthful exuberance there’s already a good sense of harmony.
