The population structure of Taiwan is about to become a super-aged society due to the low birth rate and increasing life expectancy. The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) will implement the Long-term Care Plan 3.0 one year ahead of schedule in 2026. Based on the LTC Plan 2.0, the MOHW has been working to integrate different services into the community-based integrated care service network by establishing the community integrated service center. The LTC Hotline “1966” offers assistance for those in need. For future, the MOHW will continue to expand LTC resources, strengthen the manpower, promote the adoption of assistive TA devices, and provide continuous home-based, community-based, and residential care services to create a premium in quality, affordable, and accessible LTC system.
