Features of Lactobacillus pentosus LP 25-1
Specific noni variety from technology transfer from the Forestry Research Institute, Council of Agriculture
In 2021, 131 strains of lactic acid bacteria were screened and isolated from Noni fruit of a specific variety (H7 15-1) transferred by technology from the Forestry Research Institute, Council of Agriculture.
After a step-by-step process of isolation, screening and purification, it was found that 6 strains of lactic acid bacteria reached an optimum in terms of specific characteristics and colony forming unit under specific conditions. Upon identification, these 6 strains were confirmed to be Lactobacillus pentosus.
Resistant to gastric acid and bile
Through acid and bile tolerance tests, intestinal cell adhesion and keratinocyte apoptosis tests, the Lactobacillus pentosus strain 25-1 was selected, which showed the best data among the 6 strains of Lactobacillus pentosus. This strain will be used to test the following animal experiments.
