The fair was attended by 260 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions including Austria, America, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, India, Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of Belarus, South Korea, Singapore , Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam, taking up with total 430 booths in 2015.
CIMIF & CTG 2015 attracted totally 8,837 business visitors during 4-days-event, most of the exhibitors assert that although the number of the visitors seems lesser than last year, but they are potential buyers. Delegations from the Association of Garments, Textiles, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEK, Vietnam) and Cambodia Special Economic Zones (SEZs) joined the exhibition and there were some local and international companies composed as buyer groups as well, leaded their major managers and faculties to visit the show in order to have an opportunity to face-to-face high quality exhibitors and realized advanced machineries and technologies directly.
During the fair, most of exhibitors were satisfied with the visitor traffic and the quality of professional buyers. Numbers of visitor transaction volume achieved on-site which is noteworthy that exhibitors will gain more outcome and feedbacks after the exhibition.
★ Market Information
The Cambodian economy had seen a sustainable progress in the past decade with an average growth of 8 percent, and thanks to that, Cambodia will move from a low income country to a lower middle income country in the near future. The report from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) shows its April projections for Cambodian economic growth of 7.0% in 2014, and is expected to 7.3% in 2015 and 7.6% in 2016. Jan Hansen, ADB Senior Country Economist for Cambodia said “Cambodia’s economy is expected to remain in good shape over the next two years, reflecting increased political stability and steady macroeconomic management that should further lift investors’ confidence.”
Finance Secretary of State Vongsey Visoth said that foreign direct investment (FDI) was also one of the key sources to support the economy. During the first nine months of 2014, the nation drew $1.5 billion in FDI and China, Japan, and South Korea are main foreign investors and trading partners which is figured from the Council for the Development of Cambodia. There is no doubt that Cambodia is an emerging market to foreign investors and regarded as a rising star in ASEAN.
