To protect the economic security of people with disabilities and promote their independent mobility while easing caregiver burdens, Social and Family Affairs Administration (SFAA), Ministry of Health and Welfare allocates annual subsidies to reimburse assistive device procurements taken into consideration of family economic needs. Local governments set up local assistive technology resource center staffed by social workers, assessment staff and repair technicians. These centers provide accessible and professional services to people needing assistive devices. Transportation services are provided for those in remote areas to travel to designated points for assistive device services.
