I dye hanji paper using traditional methods and slowly layer the colors to create cat folk paintings. The cozy warmth emanating from hanji resembles a cat. Bold compositions and colors, a warm, nostalgic feeling. A warm folk painting, imbued with the hopes of happiness in each subject. All my favorite elements are embodied in folk paintings. I strive to continue this tradition in my own unique way, one that best expresses it. If these works lead people to a more positive perspective on their subjects, I believe this is a meaningful endeavor, and I continue to paint.
