Characteristic

 

• Founded by Andrew Smith and Chris Reid in 2018.<br/>• A micro-distillery and an independent bottling brand.<br/>• They have two stills: a 10 litre copper still for distilling and bottling on site and a large 100 litre still for blending and distilling neutral grain spirits. Through modifications of the still, they created a proprietary cooling system and a copper botanical basket that gently extracts the aromatic components of fresh botanicals. They focus on creating spirits with locally sourced botanicals so clear provenance is guaranteed.<br/>• Bottle spirit that’s tasty and full of character.<br/>• Age casks in their own warehouse, able to bottle, label and release onsite.<br/>• Each label is unique, it may be inspired by the distillery, taste or other features. For example, Chris and Andrew once used their favourite competitive driver’s driver number as inspiration for a label.
