In March of this year, County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei led a team to participate in the 2023 Tokyo International Food Exhibition, establishing the Changhua Premium Pavilion to expand international sales channels. The Huatan  Farmers' Association successfully developed new business opportunities at the exhibition, collaborating with the Japanese company "Hanasakimi Cha" to co-develop a joint product. Before the product launch, Hanasakimi's President, Emiko Taniguchi, visited the county government on the 28th, accompanied by Huatan  Farmers' Association Secretary-General Gu Biqi. Magistrate Wang warmly welcomed President Taniguchi, and the two shared a joyful meeting. Magistrate Wang took on the role of a super salesperson, promoting Changhua's agricultural specialties, hoping that more quality products from Changhua could be sold in Japan through their collaboration, bringing the aroma of Huatan jasmine tea to the international market.

Magistrate Wang stated that in March, she led the team to the Tokyo International Food Exhibition to market Changhua's agricultural and fishery products, where Huatan's jasmine tea caught significant attention. The farmers' association grows jasmine flowers using non-toxic methods and has created a brand image. The collaboration with Hanasakimi was established during the exhibition, with ongoing efforts to enhance marketing channels. Previously, their products were exported to places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States. They aim to increase visibility for these quality products and enhance the competitiveness of local farmers' associations through international connections.

President Taniguchi expressed, through a translator, that her company sells high-quality Taiwanese tea in Japan. She noted that many consumers have told her they can find better jasmine tea in Taiwan. She was pleasantly surprised by the quality of jasmine tea in Taiwan, emphasizing that the demand for such high-quality products exists in Japan, where most offerings are in tea bag form. The collaboration with Huatan  Farmers' Association will help promote this joint product in Japan.

Secretary-General Gu Biqi of the Huatan  Farmers' Association highlighted their long-standing efforts to promote non-toxic jasmine flower products and the marketing of jasmine tea. She expressed gratitude for Magistrate Wang’s support during the Tokyo International Food Exhibition, which facilitated the cooperation. The farmers' association has been actively exploring markets in countries that enjoy jasmine tea, tailoring products like Jasmine Jin Xuan and Jasmine Black Tea to Japanese tastes. Starting with non-toxic cultivation, they aim to combine product concepts with fashionable packaging, hoping to promote their products internationally and spread the aroma of Huatan jasmine tea worldwide.
