Characteristic
AFL’s LZM-100 is a glass processing and splicing system that uses a CO2 laser heat source instead of electrodes, ensuring repeatable performance and low maintenance and eliminating electrode or filament maintenance and instability. Glass diameters of 2.3 mm or smaller can be used for fusion or adiabatic taper (to create mode field adapters or pump combiners). The high-resolution optical analysis system, used in conjunction with the built-in firmware, enables fully automated splicing, tapering and other fiber shape processes.
