Galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) is a soluble dietary fiber prebiotic that is not digested in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract and can reach the large intestine. It promotes the growth of native good bacteria in the intestine, such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus. It inhibits harmful organisms such as E. coli, Curvularia flexus and Salmonella. It increases the concentration of short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate and butyrate)
