MODEL.MARK | Developing Precision Planetary Gear Sets for NTHU Racing's TH07 Race Car

During the preparation period, we developed the planetary gear set for the NTHU Racing Team's race car. One of the key factors to maximize the car's performance is a precise transmission mechanism. Starting from material preparation and tempering, we processed the gears using precision CNC gear hobbing machines, EDM machines, and other equipment. Then, we enhanced the hardness and accuracy through heat treatment and secondary finishing. Finally, we used CNC gear precision inspection machines and optical measurement instruments to ensure the precision of our designed planetary gear set was perfectly manufactured.
By sponsoring the racing team, we aim to increase industry-academia collaboration, promote technical exchange, and enhance the industry's influence. We want the public to see more possibilities in Taiwan's engineering education and work together for the future of the racing industry!
