Characteristic
Oriental Beauty Tea is a heavily fermented partially fermented tea. It has many nicknames, such as "Pekko Oolong Tea, Puffed Feng Tea, Five Color Tea, Champagne Oolong, Fanzhuang Oolong", etc. Its origin may originate from the Japanese occupation period. Hakka Village. Because Oriental Beauty is a specialty tea developed locally and uniquely in Taiwan, it exists separately in the summary of the Taiwan Tea Flavor Wheel. The main varieties are green-hearted tea leaves. In particular, the tea leaves need to be collected from young tea buds that have been sucked by the small green leafhopper. After heavy withering and stirring, the tea leaves need to be stuffed with a damp cloth after frying. Only after it is moistened can it be kneaded and shaped. The appearance of the finished tea is white, green, yellow and reddish brown, like a flower, with pekoe in advanced cases. The color of the tea soup is orange-red, with a natural honey aroma or ripe fruit aroma, and a round, soft and mellow taste. It is mainly produced in the tea areas around Shiding District in New Taipei City, Longtan District in Taoyuan City, Beipu and Emei in Hsinchu County, and Toufen and Tongluo in Miaoli County.
